What are the requirements for renting a car?
To be able to rent a vehicle with Luz Ocean Drive, the customer must present: – Valid Citizenship Card (EU) / Valid Passport – Valid Driving License issued more than 1 year ago by a member state of the European Union, or by states adhering to the Conventions International Conferences on Road Circulation (Geneva in 1949 and Vienna in 1968) and also Andorra, Angola, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Switzerland. – Credit card in the name of the main driver with a limit sufficient to cover the amount of Damage Liability.
What is the minimum and maximum age to rent a car?
There is no maximum age. The minimum age allowed to rent a vehicle is 21 years old. Drivers aged between 21 and 23 years old (inclusive) are subject to a Young Driver Fee.
Can the rental vehicle be driven by someone other than me?
If you want another person to drive the same vehicle, you must request the inclusion of an additional driver when collecting the vehicle, requiring their presence and presentation of their identification documents and driving license. This service will have an additional cost according to the current rate.
Can I return the vehicle later than the time specified in the contract?
If you return the vehicle later than the time stipulated on the contract, you will be charged an additional daily amount based on our price list, to be consulted at the counter (this amount also includes the additional value of all extra products purchased at the beginning of the contract)
It should be noted that our contracts provide for a 30-minute delay period, after which the additional value corresponds to 24-hour periods of the National Over-the-Counter Tariff in force.
If I return the car early, can I get my rental money back?
If you return the vehicle before the date mentioned in the rental contract, you will not be entitled to any refund. This is because our vehicles are blocked on a date, time and location defined by you when booking, so we are unable to guarantee that these vehicles will be re-rented to new customers on the days you did not use them.
Can you smoke inside vehicles?
You cannot smoke inside all Vehicles. The verification of signs in the vehicle that demonstrate such conduct determines the payment by the customer of a €50 penalty fee.
Can I choose a specific vehicle from a certain group?
The reservation confirmation is not necessarily linked to a specific vehicle (model make, color, equipment, etc.), but rather to a group of vehicles with similar technical characteristics and habitability. If a model from the selected group is not available, one from a higher category will be delivered.
PRICES, INSURANCE & COVERAGE
What do the prices shown include?
Damage Liability is the amount for which the customer is responsible in the event of damage to the vehicle during the rental, which is not attributed to third parties (known as “deductible”). This is the maximum amount that the customer will have to bear for damage caused to the vehicle (without a third party responsible) when all contractual clauses are met. The value of Damage Liability varies depending on the type of vehicle and can be canceled by contracting the Damage Coverage Service (SuperCDW) – tires, windows and locks excluded.

Luz Ocean Drive practices a fair fuel policy. The customer must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received. Fuel differences will be charged: 1/8 difference ->(Group, A,,D,D1,E & J) €15 and (Group F,J1,J2,L,L1,H,H1 & Groups M’s) € 20. Returning the vehicle with more fuel does not entitle you to a refund of the amount.
Damages/Accidents
How are Damages processed?
Insurance taken out with a third party, how are damages processed?
Insurance taken out with a third party is reimbursement insurance, meaning that the customer is responsible for paying for damage to the vehicle that occurred during the rental, and can then submit a reimbursement request to the insurer.
What to do in case of an accident?
You must complete the friendly declaration provided with the contract documentation, paying attention to its completion. It is important that all fields are correctly filled in and that the declaration is signed by the parties involved in the accident, so that it can be claimed from the insurance company. Whenever there is disagreement between the parties, the competent authorities must be called to prepare a police report.
In both cases, the driver must deliver all documentation relating to the accident, as well as our vehicle in their possession, to a YNOT station in order to resolve the process as quickly as possible. An email contact must also be provided, so that information regarding the completion of the process can be sent.

What Types of Payments are Accepted?
Why do they need to associate my card in the computer system?
At the end of the rental contract, the excess blocked on my credit card was cancelled, but my bank has not yet released the amount?
